Workspace Intro

Please note that this is not a general rule. Every Photoshop user has he's own "style" on how to define their workspace. When working with multilayered PSD documents as www.arc4studio.com templates are, these settings will help you to improve the workflow.

1. Open documents in separated windows not in tabs

When you want to add images to a collage layout (template), it's better have the documents floating instead open in tabs. For this go to top menu Edit / Preferences / Workspace and uncheck the "Open Documents as Tabs".

For Mac users go top bar Photoshop / Preferences / Workspace

Uncheck Open Documents as Tabs

2. Use the Move tool and have Auto-Select and Show Transform Controls on

This is essential for the multilayered PSD documents. Using the Move tool (shortcut:V) once you click on a layout's element (decoration overlay, frame holder, text, etc) you have total control over it and you can select, move, resize, delete, etc.

Use the Move tool and have Auto Select on

3. Have always the Layers window open

If the Layer's palette is not on the screen (usually is located on the right side), go on top menu Windows / Layers (shortcut: f7).
